In Transport Tycoon you manage a transportation company starting in 1930, during the Great Depression. Your goal is to build an empire of trains, ships, trucks, planes, and helicopters while accounting for technological evolution. You can play alone, with a friend, or with a number of computer-controlled rivals. At the beginning of the game, you (and your rivals) have a large area of land at your disposal. The terrain includes hills, rivers, lakes, bridges, industrial facilities, and many small towns. It's up to you to decide how to start building your empire. The game is presented in an isometric projection. A toolbar at the top of the screen allows you to view the map, see game stats, and build stuff.
