Zed Blade is a classic shoot'em up with horizontal scrolling. At the start of the game, you can choose your type of weaponry from three options: your main fire, missiles, and fire from the back of your ship. You can also choose the direction of your weapons and customise your ship. The seven levels will take you through an apocalyptic space filled with enemies to contend with. Each time you lose a life, you start again in the same place. The game has the look of R-Type, but not the puzzle-shooting style. There aren't many pellets, although by the end of the game they do feature prominently. The fact that they are mainly of a single colour makes things easier.
