Rather than a traditional game, it is an audiovisual demonstration built around the console's vector display, using animated effects, rhythmic sequences and classic demoscene presentation. The production was shown at Buenzli 2005, where it won first place in the Alternative Demo/Intro competition and also received a Jury Prize. Pimmelsafari II is therefore one of the early notable Vectrex demos from the demoscene.
