Bomberman : Panic Bomber
Also known as: Bomberman : Panic Bomber (TGX)
Publisher: Hudson Soft · Developer: Hudson Soft
It is the near future. In the corner of the galaxy lies the star Nogisusu, naturally blessed with peace, where everybody lives quietly. But one day, of course, monster underlings of Maou Bugler began laying waste to the star. Bugler boarded a floating castle in the sky in order to get revenge on Bomberman, who lives peacefully on this star. To restore peace to Nogisusu, Bomberman must once again embark on an adventurous journey, heading toward the floating castle suspended above the northern mountains. It is a "block falling" puzzle game based on the Bomberman franchise. The main aim of the game is to make your opponent lose by filling their board with objects. You do this by detonating chains of bombs, sending useless debris onto your opponent's board for them to remove themselves. Bombs are earned by making chains of three identical blocks disappear. Bombs can only be detonated with the explosion of a lit bomb, which occasionally falls from the top of the screen. Eventually, if the player does enough damage, they can earn a giant bomb that clears a large amount of debris from the field and causes a lot of trouble for their opponent. The game's regular story mode revolves around Bomberman's hunt for the Golden Bomber statue. During his wanderings he fights against different strange characters like Drifty the balloon or Cecil the tiger. However, the only thing you can really earn from this mode is a harder difficulty, which is achieved by completing the entire story on the "Hard" difficulty.
