Monster World IV is an action / platform game on virtual consoles. The player controls Asha, a young girl with green hair, who one day hears a mysterious scream and decides to go on an adventure to discover its origin. The game contains several elements borrowed from the role-playing game, so Asha can equip herself with different weapons and armor and it is possible to pick up various objects but also to talk to non-playable characters.
