Astro Command is a side-scrolling shooter heavily inspired by Konami's arcade game Super Cobra. While retaining the basic concept of navigating a hostile environment aboard a fighter plane, Astro Command introduces several changes that set it apart from its arcade counterpart. Notably, players must contend with asteroid-like objects that drift unpredictably through the air, adding a new dimension to the challenge. These aerial hazards replace many of the classic enemy ships, giving the game a different pace and rhythm of action.
