The game is once again presented in a realistic visual style using digitized photographs of the players. The major changes over the previous game are updated rosters for the new season, and the addition of licensed real-world stadiums instead of the fictional ones found in the first game. Game modes available are identical to the previous title: Exhibition, Pennant Race, Tournament, All-Star, and Home Run Contest, plus a full Team Edit mode and player database. A modified version featuring American MLB teams and players was released worldwide as World Series Baseball II.
