While Bub and Bob were living a peaceful life on Pao Pao Island, Chack'n paid them a visit and warned them that the Tree of Life was under attack from the Time Eaters and was in danger of being destroyed by them. Upon hearing this, Bub sets off on a quest, accompanied by a partner chosen by the player, to defeat these creatures and discover who is behind the attack. The gameplay is identical to that of previous instalments; however, the game introduces several new features and elements to the series. These include smaller bubbles allowing the player to target restricted areas, large bubbles that transform all bubbles in the level into bubbles of the same colour, and blocks that can move the pointer to different areas of the game.
