The Captive throws you into a haunting island setting where you must escape from the eerie Glen of Colored Corpses. You explore the area freely, search for color-coded keys to open locked doors, and collect items that often only reveal their true purpose through specific scrolls. At the same time, mysterious entities roam the land, ending the game instantly on contact, while your energy must be maintained by finding food. That mix of exploration, puzzles, limited inventory, and constant danger gives the game its tense and unsettling appeal.
