Jack the Ripper

Commodore 64 · 1987 · WOR

Also known as: Jack The Ripper

Publisher: CRL Group · Developer: St. Bride's School · Genre: Puzzle

Jack the Ripper turns a horrifying historical setting into a dark adventure in which you fall under suspicion yourself and must prove your innocence before the police seize on you as a convenient scapegoat. Its closeness to the real events gives the game an uneasy and oppressive atmosphere, while the text-driven design places strong emphasis on precise input and cautious actions. That mix of historical inspiration, criminal uncertainty, and deeply unsettling mood makes it feel less like a conventional adventure and more like a tense struggle against fear, suspicion, and looming condemnation.
